This is information for those applying as Members, and intending to raid. Those seeking Friends and Family status should skip down to the next post.
ExpectationsWe expect applicants for member status to both have a good attitude and be active players that strive to optimize their raid performance. Optimizing raid performance requires advance preparation for encounters, frequent attendance, and consumable use on all non-trivial content. We expect everyone's performance to be similar to the other members/roles. We expect everyone to be willing to be on backup as needed when particularly encounters require a certain combination of classes in the raid. We also expect everyone to know what gear, gems, enchants, talents, and abilities are essential to their role. We expect everyone to have already visited
Elitist Jerks: Class Mechanics .
We also expect that your personality will "fit" with the guild, which is somewhat difficult to explain. To give you an idea of what to expect, we are mostly mid-20s to 30s, professional, avid gamers, with families. If you are interested in fringe culture, or are a few cards short of a deck, you will be happier in another guild. Sorry.
Recruitment ProcedureStep 1:
You must register for the forums before you can submit an application.
Please register using the name of the toon you plan to apply with. (Try a different email address if the forums label you as a spambot, then contact an officer.) We prefer you copy the application to a new post. You should receive a response shortly thereafter, on these forums or in-game. If we are interested in your application, we will ask for more information, so please check your Personal Messages regularly. In rare circumstances we may ask you to come along on a raid or two before proceeding. If the forums label you a spambot, please send me an email and I will activate your account (There is an email icon near my avatar).
Step 2:
Presuming all basic requirements are met, we will invite you as an Applicant. Please refer to the DKP rules related to your looting privileges. During this period, it is your responsibility to get to know guild members, make an effort to demonstrate your skills and your personality. If people don't know who you are at the end of your application period, they will not vote favorably.
Step 3:
At the end of your applicant period, a vote will be held from the current active members. In general, if there is a strong consensus, you will be promoted to member. However, the officers will review the results, no votes with explanations will be given strong consideration, and they will make the final decision. In some circumstances officers can choose to extend your application period. Otherwise, your application will be denied, and you will be removed from the guild. Please note that if it is obvious that you are not a good fit for the guild, you can be removed at any time.
Friends and FamilyFor those seeking Friends and Family Rank:
Please note that Friends and Family are
non-raider, and are in NO WAY promised promotion to members.
If you wish to become a Member at some point in the future, you will have to go through the application process, as detailed above.
To be invited as Friends and Family, you will need a member to endorse your application. Beyond this, you are expected to maintain behavior appropriate to the guild, and to be a good fit.
